The term Panarello is used for a milk frothing attachment on the steam arm, often mounted to espresso machines or bean-to-coffee machines, sometimes even on capsule machines. The attachment creates a vortex and makes the creation of microfoam for coffee specialties such as cappuccino or latte macchiato a lot easier. Since this process also heats up the milk, it is important to pay attention that the milk doesn't get too hot or even boils. A simple and effective method to determine the correct temperature is to touch the thin-walled metal pitcher with one hand. As soon as the pitcher is too hot to touch you should not heat the milk any further.
