The Robusta coffee plant can grow to heights of 8 meters if not pruned, but the coffee plant is usually maintained at shrub height for easier harvesting. The caffeine content of 2.0% and 3.5% considerably exceeds the caffeine content of the Arabica coffee. The higher caffeine content, the absence of some aromas und the fuller body - compared to the Arabica - make Robusta the perfect espresso bean. With a world market share of approx. 30% it is the second most-grown coffee plant.
